Frequently Asked Questions
The prints
An archival pigment print on cotton rag, made to order, numbered by hand and signed. It comes with a certificate naming the campaign the frame came from and the artist who shot it.
Each frame is released in a run of 25 prints, numbered in sequence. When the 25th is sold the run closes, the file is retired, and we do not reprint that frame or reissue it at another size.
No. Prints ship unframed so you can choose the framing yourself. Larger sizes travel rolled in a tube, smaller sizes flat between boards.
Yes. Nothing enters the archive shop without the artist agreeing to it, and every print sold pays them. The work is made by the people credited for it.
Commissions
Write to info@velourage.com with the scope, the timeline and where the work will run. We come back with a direction and the artist we would put on it. If you already have a deck or a moodboard, send it.
Fee, usage and licence period are agreed and written down before anyone is booked. Extending usage later is a conversation with a number attached, not a dispute.
Yes. Edit, grade and retouch are part of the commission, and files are delivered in the formats your channels actually need rather than as a single master.
Licensing
Often, yes. Work we have already shot can be licensed again on terms agreed with the artist rather than assumed. Tell us the image, the territory and the period, and we will come back with terms.
No. A print is an artwork for display. Commercial use of the image is a separate licence — write to info@velourage.com and we will arrange it with the artist.
